WINTER VALETING
Why have your sails and covers valeted?
Sails collect an enormous amount if dirt, grime, salt and moisture – this occurs even when the sails are ‘doing nothing’.
Leaving your headsail or mainsail on rollers can prove expensive and sails on furling systems are particularly affected. As a result, the material becomes hard and begins to deteriorate and any delay in attention allows mildew to start forming.
Sails left under covers are not free from winter damp.
Sail and cover washing is charged by weight (per kg) and if you wish to have them overhauled, they are checked over and any necessary repairs are completed. For details on winter storage please see below….
WINTER STORAGE
Unless you sail all winter, sail and cover storage will be free on the following terms:-
All sails and covers brought in during the winter are stored free of charge until the end of the following September, provided that the invoice (which will be sent on completion of the work) is paid in full within 10 days.
Please Note:
Sails and other items are stored at the owners’ risk.
Any insurance claims to which the sails and covers might be subject should be covered by your own policy.
